Resumen
El trabajo forzoso u obligatorio ha estado presente a lo largo de la Historia y, en la actualidad, sigue constituyendo un problema alarmante a nivel mundial. En 1930, la OIT aprobó el Convenio 29 sobre el trabajo forzoso, un instrumento fundamental en la lucha contra este fenómeno. Partiendo de estas premisas, el objetivo del presente estudio radica en analizar el alcance del Convenio 29, prestando atención, asimismo, a su actualización mediante la aprobación del Convenio 105 sobre la abolición del trabajo forzoso, de 1957, y el Protocolo de 2014 relativo al Convenio sobre el trabajo forzoso.
Forced or compulsory labour has existed all throughout History and, nowadays, it is still a serious problem around the world. In 1930, the ILO approved the Convention 29 concerning forced labour, an essential instrument regarding the fight against this phenomenon. From these premises, the main purpose of this study consists in analysing the scope of the Convention 29, paying attention also to the update of the Convention by means of the approval of the Convention 105 concerning the abolition of forced labour, of 1957, and the Protocol of 2014 to the Forced Labour Convention.
