dc.description.abstractStudent engagement measure (SEM) helps to understand learner enrolment, retention, and performance. We report a validation of SEM scale by Fredricks et al. (2004) for Internally Displaced (IDP) learners in 50 locations in Northeast, Nigeria - where Boko Haram ideology is against education. The results confirm the validity of the scale measures. We equally compared various in-groupings of IDP learners to make connections between engagement dimensions and different sociodemographic variables. The comparisons provide insights to help humanitarian education provide tailored learning experiences for IDP learners. All these advance SEM research and adoption in Education in Emergency (EiE)en
