dc.description.abstract | Student engagement measure (SEM) helps to understand learner enrolment, retention, and performance. We report a validation of SEM scale by Fredricks et al. (2004) for Internally Displaced (IDP) learners in 50 locations in Northeast, Nigeria - where Boko Haram ideology is against education. The results confirm the validity of the scale measures. We equally compared various in-groupings of IDP learners to make connections between engagement dimensions and different sociodemographic variables. The comparisons provide insights to help humanitarian education provide tailored learning experiences for IDP learners.
