dc.description.abstractEl proceso de transformación digital de las fronteras exteriores europeas y, especialmente la capacidad de inferencia de las fronteras inteligentes ha cambiado y seguirá cambiando la forma de anticipar, controlar y frenar los flujos migratorios hacia la Unión Europea. No solo a través del uso generalizado de herramientas predictivas, sistemas de identificación biométrica remota y sistemas de verificación cruzada, sino también por medio de la puesta en práctica de diferentes sistemas de tecnología inteligente. Actualmente, una multitud de nuevas aplicaciones tecnológicas y la creciente interoperabilidad de los sistemas TI a gran escala está tratando de dar una respuesta eficiente, objetiva y sostenible a la gestión fronteriza de la inmigración y del asilo. Esta transformación “inteligente” de los confines fronterizos aparentemente inocua contribuye, desde un enfoque centrado en la seguridad y menos crítico, a la reproducción ilimitada de categorías estereotipadas sobre las movilidades (no) deseadas o sospechosas. es
dc.description.abstractThe process of digital transformation of Europe's external borders, and especially the inference capacity of smart borders, has changed and will continue to change the way migration flows into the European Union are anticipated, controlled, and managed. Not only through the widespread use of predictive tools, remote biometric identification, and cross-verification systems, but also through the implementation of various AI-based technological systems. Currently, a myriad of new high-tech applications and theinteroperability of large IT systems are attempting to provide an efficient, objective, and sustainable response to border management in relation to immigration and asylum. This seemingly innocuous 'intelligent' transformation of borders contributes, from a security-focused and less critical perspective, to the unlimited reproduction of stereotyped categories regarding (un)desired or suspicious mobilities.en
