dc.description.abstractThis article analyzes the beaterios as expressions of feminine religiosity during the Middle Ages preceding the regular convents founded during the Modern Age. This is confirmed through both the role of the beaterios leading the birth of conventual female Basque life and its features within the contemporary Basque society.en
