En su oposición al azul, el rosa constituye hoy el más claro marcador de género en la vestimenta infantil. Este dimorfismo cromático entre niños y niñas se muestra tan consolidado en nuestros días (especialmente en edades tempranas) que poco parece poder decirse al respecto, más allá de rendirse a la evidencia de su extensión o, si acaso, rastrear los conatos de resistencia. Aquí tratará de trazarse, en primer lugar, la evolución que ha conducido a este estado de cosas. En segundo lugar, se ofrecerá una lectura política de esta oposición del rosa y el azul, que la situará en la historia, más amplia, de los marcadores de género en la niñez y mostrando su eficacia a la hora de visibilizar y distribuir posiciones asimétricas entre los cuerpos infantiles.
The colour pink, as opposed to blue, is one of the most explicit gender markers in children’s fashion. This chromatic dimorphism between boys and girls is so well-establish nowadays, especially in the early stages, that it is difficult to resist, or, at least, to trace some signs of resistance. This paper presents in the first place the evolution that has led to this state. Secondly, it offers a political reading of this opposition between pink and blue colours, from a historical perspective of the gender markers in childhood and shows its impact in the visibility and distribution of inequality between children.
