dc.description.abstractEl artículo analiza las instituciones de ámbito territorial que existieron en el Señorío de Vizcaya durante la Edad Moderna y sus antecedentes medievales. Se revisan, a partir del estado de conocimiento existente, las Juntas Generales de Guernica, principal institución del Señorío, el Regimiento General y la Junta de las villas y ciudad. Se realiza el estudio desde la doble óptica de la historia institucional y desde la historia social, desde la que se observan los diversos estratos del poder existentes en las Juntas Generales de Vizcaya y la estrecha relación que tuvieron también con las instituciones locales. es
dc.description.abstractThis paper is focused on the territorial institutions of Biscay during the Early Modern Ages, though medieval centuries are also taken into account since it was in that period when these concrete institutions were founded. The main institution was the Parliament located in Guernica, but, as it will be seen, it was not the only institution in Biscay in which decisions were taken since there were also the so called General Regiment and the Parliament of towns and the city. This paper can be seen from a double historical perspective: institutional history and social history. This duality allows us to see the different levels of powerful groups that existed and took part in the Parliament, and in their network in the local institutions. en
