Los avances de la ingeniería informática le llevan al experto en IA R. Kurzweil a proponer un futuro no muy lejano en el que se podrán construir robots inteligentes que llegarán a estar dotados de conciencia, libertad y sentimientos. En su opinión, estas cualidades son las que llevarán a los humanos a tener que reconocer la condición de personas de tales robots, y a elaborar una ciberética que regule las relaciones de los humanos con los robots y de éstos entre sí. Este artículo presenta las tesis centrales de la propuesta de R. Kurzweil, sobre todo la concepción de la condición humana que está latente en ella, para evaluar críticamente lo que de interesante, pero a la vez problemático, hay en esta propuesta de “humanismo extendido” que nos propone el intelectual norteamericano.
The advances in computer engineering have lead R. Kurzweil to propose a not too far future in which intelligent robots endowed with consciousness, freedom and feelings may be built. In his opinion, these qualities will force humans to accept the human nature of these robots and to develop cyberethics to govern human-robot and robot-robot interactions. The author of this paper presents R. Kurzweil’s proposal, particularly the idea of the human latent in it, to critically assess the idea of “extended humanism” proposed by this North American scholar.
