Resumen
El debate en torno a la existencia o no de la libertad es una constante en filosofía. Cuando el saber científico se consolidó en la forma en que hoy lo conocemos, entró a participar en él. Hoy es especialmente relevante para esta cuestión su expresión como saber neurocientífico. Es el que, desde la filosofía, se tiene presente aquí, al abordarse esta problemática. En concreto, se sitúa la argumentación en lo que se conoce como “neurociencia de la ética”, en la que se persigue descubrir las bases neuronales de la conducta humana que calificamos como “moral”. Y dentro de ella, se debate su interpretación determinista a la hora de abordar la fundamentación cerebral de esa conducta y la definición de sus leyes “morales”. Se concluye la reflexión proyectando el resultado de la misma sobre el ámbito de la atención a la salud mental
The debate about the existence of freedom is a constant in philosophy. When scientific knowledge was consolidated as we know it today, it was introduced in it. Today, its expression as neuroscience is especially relevant to this issue. It is this expression which is taken into consideration here, from the philosophical perspective, to address this problem. Specifically, the analysis is placed in the field known as “neuroscience of ethics”. Such field seeks to discover the neural basis of human behavior which we describe as “moral”. Within it, its deterministic interpretation when addressing the cerebral basis of such conduct and the definition of “moral” laws are debated. This reflection is concluded projecting the outcome of it on the field of mental health care.
