Resumen
Atendiendo al crecimiento acelerado del turismo activo y de aventura, con los impactos que conlleva, y partiendo de los modelos de cambio organizacional aplicados a las sostenibilidad, este artículo analiza el posicionamiento de las empresas de turismo activo ante la sostenibilidad, identifica algunos de los factores que impulsan su compromiso para contribuir al desarrollo sostenible, y valora si la actitud o las acciones que adoptan para la integración de la sostenibilidad son estructurales o reactivas. Para ello, se recopilaron datos cualitativos a través de entrevistas semiestructuradas a empresas de turismo activo en Mallorca y se analizaron las respuestas mediante análisis temático. Se concluyó con el predominio de determinados tipos de posicionamientos y una tendencia más reactiva que proactiva de las empresas ante la sostenibilidad. Finalmente, se proponen futuras líneas de investigación que profundicen en elementos clave como factores en empresas que influyen sobre aspectos concretos de desarrollo sostenible y prácticas a incorporar en las empresas para que contribuyan en mayor medida al desarrollo sostenible desde la gestión adecuada de sus actividades en los destinos donde operan.
While addressing the accelerated growth of active and adventure tourism, with its associated impacts, and based on the theoretical models of organizational change toward sustainability , this article analyses the positioning of active tourism companies regarding sustainability, identifies some of the factors which drive their commitment to contributing to sustainable development, and assesses whether the attitude or actions they adopt to integrate sustainability are structural or reactive. To this end, qualitative data were collected through semi-structured interviews with active tourism companies in Mallorca, and the responses were analysed using thematic analysis. It was concluded that certain types of positions predominate and that companies tend to be more reactive than proactive regarding sustainability. Finally, future lines of research are proposed, which delve into key elements such as factors in companies that influence specific aspects of sustainable development and practices to be incorporated by companies for them to contribute further to sustainable development through the proper management of their activities in the destinations where they operate.
