dc.description.abstractEl personaje del centurión del Evangelio de Marcos (Mc 15,39) ha suscitado muchas preguntas e interpretaciones diversas. Desde quienes consideran su intervención como la última burla y sarcasmo que evidencian el fracaso de Jesús, hasta quienes ven en su breve reconocimiento la mayor confesión de fe en Jesús. El evangelista no aclara en su relato el porqué de su intervención ni su significado: ¿qué le llevó a este centurión a afirmar que aquel crucificado era hijo de Dios? Las múltiples conexiones del Evangelio de Marcos con las cartas paulinas ofrecen claves de interpretación para responder a las preguntas y ambigüedades de la breve intervención del centurión. Sin ellas resulta difícil captar el sentido de este personaje y, con ellas, se descubre que el Evangelio de Marcos comparte con Pablo la centralidad del mensaje de la cruz.es
dc.description.abstractThe narrative character of the centurion in the Gospel of Mark (Mk 15:39) has raised many different questions and interpretations. From those who consider his intervention as the ultimate mockery and sarcasm that shows Jesus' failure to those who see in his brief acknowl­edgement the greatest confession of faith in Jesus. The evangelist does not clarify in his account the reason for his intervention or its significance: what led this centurion to affirm that the crucified man was the son of God? The many connections of Mark's Gospel with the Pauline letters offer interpretative clues to the questions and ambiguities of the centurion's brief intervention. Without them, it is difficult to grasp the meaning of this character and with them, one discovers that Mark's Gospel shares with Paul the centrality of the message of the cross.en
