dc.description.abstractEl siguiente artículo propone un acercamiento general al concepto de participación, a su definición y a sus beneficios, como referente importante para las personas inmigrantes en los procesos de integración. Se revisan los principales autores que han tratado el fenómeno asociativo, con sus diferentes enfoques y se aborda el fenómeno particular del asociacionismo de inmigrantes. A lo largo de los últimos años, las asociaciones de inmigrantes parecen haberse erigido como interlocutores válidos de las necesidades y de los intereses de los recién llegados, además se reconocen como espacios y herramienta para una participación más activa de los asociados en todas las esferas públicas. Ese movimiento asociativo merece ser estudiado a fondo para conocer las causas de su aparición, sus numerosas aportaciones en la vida de los inmigrantes, y el rol que desempeña en la sociedad.es
dc.description.abstractThe following article aims to provide a general conceptual definition of participation and íts benefits, with immigrants in the process of integration as a reference point. The principal authors mentioned in this article have addressed the phenomenon of associationism with a special focus to study the phenomenon of immigrant associations. These immigrant associations in the last few years have emerged as interlocutors mirroring the needs and interests of recent immigrants, and at the same time they are recognized as spaces and instruments for an active participation in all public areas. The movement of associationism should be studied in order to determine the causes of its presence, and to understand its many contributions to the lives of immigrants, and the role that they play in the society.en
