Así, por una parte, se pretende determinar o concretar lo que supone la «adherencia a algún tratamiento médico». Por otra parte, se trata de saber cuál es la situación de los familiares para con el acompañamiento de las personas que requieren dicha adherencia, cuando el acompañamiento debe compaginarse con el trabajo. Con otras palabras, se trata de responder a la pregunta de si es posible la conciliación en ese supuesto. Ello exige concretar las posibilidades que ofrece el ordenamiento jurídico. Precisamente, estrechamente vinculada a esta segunda cuestión es necesario plantearse la hipótesis de que los familiares de las personas que requieren la adherencia a algún tratamiento médico deben poder seguir manteniendo el empleo, so pena de poder sufrir una discriminación por asociación.The objective of this study is to analyze various aspects of job retention among individuals with family members requiring adherence to medical treatment, given that this issue has not yet been addressed by the scientific literature. Thus, on the one hand, the aim is to determine or specify what 'adherence to a medical treatment' entails. On the other hand, the goal is to understand the situation of family members regarding the support of those who require such adherence, when this support must be balanced with work. In other words, the aim is to answer the question of whether work-life balance is possible in this scenario. This requires specifying the possibilities offered by the legal framework.
