Objective: To analyze the degree of satisfaction of hospitalized patients regarding communication and treatment received from nursing professionals, as well as the perception of the health staff themselves. Method: observational, cross-sectional, multicenter study conducted in the Sierrallana and Tres Mares hospitals (Spain). A total of 399 hospitalized patients and 235 nursing professionals (nurses, nursing assistants, and nursing care technicians [TCAE]) were included. An ad hoc questionnaire was used to assess professional identification, information, team coordination, time spent, respect for privacy, kindness, and overall satisfaction. Descriptive statistics, bivariate analysis, and multivariate logistic regression were conducted to identify predictors of high satisfaction. Results: 84.4% of patients rated their overall satisfaction as good or very good. The factors significantly associated with higher satisfaction were: perception of team coordination (OR 3.12; 95% CI 1.88-5.18), information about care (OR 2.74; 95% CI 1.59-4.71), perceived kindness (OR 4.26; 95% CI 2.31-7.84), and respect for privacy (OR 2.21; 95% CI 1.29-3.78). Advanced age showed a positive independent association. Among professionals, 65.1% reported being satisfied with the care they provide, although 37% acknowledged not always using professional identification. Conclusions: Therapeutic communication, the perception of humanized treatment, and team coordination are key determinants of hospitalized patient satisfaction. There are discrepancies between professional perception and patient experience that justify organizational interventions aimed at improving professional identification and direct care time.spa© 2026 The authorsSatisfacción del paciente con la comunicación y el trato recibido por profesionales de enfermería en el ámbito hospitalario estudio multicéntrico con análisis multivariantePatient satisfaction with communication and care provided by nursing professionals in the hospital setting a multicenter study with multivariate analysisjournal article2026-08-042173-822X
