El principal objetivo es profundizar en la incidencia del imaginario sobre la maternidad en la construcción de identidades feministas. Para ello, se presentan y analizan los testimonios de cinco mujeres jóvenes que se afirman feministas y se detienen a hablar acerca de “la maternidad” como elemento que se entrecruza en su proceso de relación con la política feminista. Los testimonios se han recogido en el marco de una investigación más amplia, que se desarrolla dentro del contexto de la Comunidad Autónoma del País Vasco (CAPV) y busca estudiar cómo mujeres jóvenes que residen en este territorio se han ido relacionando con la política feminista a lo largo de su trayectoria vital. Se ha utilizado una metodología de investigación cualitativa fundamentada en el análisis de cuarenta entrevistas semiestructuradas individuales a mujeres jóvenes que en el año 2016 formaban parte de un grupo de militancia feminista y/o estaban cursando o habían cursado ya alguno de los tres másteres en igualdad, género, violencia contra las mujeres y feminismo actualmente vigentes en la CAPV. Los resultados del análisis de los cinco testimonios seleccionados evidencian que la reflexión sobre la maternidad en clave feminista genera incomodidad, descontento o incertidumbre, pero también permite activar la creatividad y el inconformismo ante el mandato normativo, algo que se considera de gran interés social seguir estudiando, especialmente, desde un enfoque empírico.This article addresses the symbolic construction of motherhood in our context and how the feminist vision of this conception and other social transformations have influenced the collective imaginary. The main objective is to deepen the incidence of the imaginary on motherhood in the construction of feminist identities. Therefore, this paper presents and analyses the testimonies of young women who claim to be feminists and talk about "motherhood" as an element that intertwines with their relationship with feminist politics. The testimonies were collected within the framework of a broader research project that is being conducted in the Basque Autonomous Community. The aim is to examine how young women living in this region have related to feminist politics throughout their lives. A qualitative research methodology is used, based on the analysis of forty semi-structured individual interviews with young women who in 2016 were part of a militant feminist group and/or were completing or had already completed one of the three master’s degrees in equality, gender, violence against women and feminism that are currently delivered in the Basque Country. The results of the analysis of the five selected testimonies show that the reflection on motherhood in feminist key generates discomfort, discontent or uncertainty, but also allows to activate creativity and nonconformity against the normative mandate, which is considered of great social interest and deserves further study, particularly from an empirical perspective.spaMaternidadFeminismosMujeres jóvenesIdentidades feministasMotherhoodFeminismsYoung womenFeminist identitiesjournal article2025-08-27
