Por una parte, la atención se pone en casos de abortos acontecidos como consecuencia de la violencia sufrida por las madres a manos de sus esposos, es decir, padres de los fetos que no nacieron. Por otra parte, hay expedientes que tratan los delitos de infanticidio y parricidio, pero también los malos tratos sufridos a manos de sus padres o de los maridos de las madres. La base de este escrito son los expedientes de divorcios de los matrimonios vizcaínos que se encuentran en el Archivo de la Catedral de Calahorra. Además, también se emplea documentación del Archivo Histórico Foral de Bizkaia, el Archivo Histórico Eclesiástico de Bizkaia y el Archivo de la Real Chancillería de Valladolid.Taking violence and the family environment as the historical framework to be investigated, the aim of this contribution is to present examples of the violence suffered by Biscayan children during the Modern Age, specifically in the family environment. On the one hand, the focus is on cases of abortions that occurred as a result of violence suffered by mothers at the hands of their husbands, i.e. the fathers of unborn foetuses. On the other hand, there are files dealing with the crimes of infanticide and parricide, but also with the abuse suffered at the hands of the fathers or the mothers' husbands. The basis for this paper is the divorce records of the Biscayan marriages in the archives of Calahorra Cathedral.
