Ítem Annotated dataset of simulated voiding sound for urine flow estimation(Nature Research, 2025-06-13) Álvarez Arteaga, Marcos Lázaro; Arjona Aguilera, Laura; Bahillo, Alfonso; Bernardo Seisdedos, GanekoSound-based uroflowmetry is a non-invasive test emerging as an alternative to standard uroflowmetry, estimating voiding characteristics from the sound generated by urine striking water in a toilet bowl. The lack of labeled flow sound datasets limits research for developing supervised AI algorithms. This work presents a dataset of simulated urinary flow sound recordings at flow rates from 1 to 50 ml/s, in increments of 1 ml/s, against water in a real toilet bowl. Flow generation employed an L600-1F precision peristaltic pump, with simultaneous recordings from three devices: high-quality Ultramic384k microphone, Mi A1 smartphone and Oppo smartwatch. Water was expelled through a 6 mm diameter nozzle (simulating the urethra) from a variable height of 73 to 86 cm, mimicking adult urination. The dataset provides 60-seconds labeled, constant-flow audio recordings (WAV format). Data from three different techniques that describe global and regional connectivity differences within functional resting-state networks in transwomen and transmen with early-in-life onset gender incongruence are provided: (1) we obtained spatial maps from data-driven independent component analysis using the melodic tool from FSL software; (2) we provide the functional networks interactions of two functional atlases’ seeds from a seed-to-seed approach; (3) and global graph-theoretical metrics such as the smallworld organization, and the segregation and integration properties of the networks. Interpretations of the present dataset can be found in the original article, doi:10.1016/j.neuroimage.2020.116613 [1]. The original and processed nifti images are available in Mendeley datasets. In addition, correlation matrices for the seed-to-seed and graph-theory analyses as well as the graph-theoretical measures were made available in Matlab files. X-ray µCT images were taken on two types of spherical glass beads (i.e. smooth and rough) and two different sands (i.e. natural and roughened). Each sample was subjected to drainage and soaking paths consisting in a multiphase ‘static’ flow of potassium iodine (KI) brine (wetting phase) and dry air (non-wetting phase). Tomograms were obtained at different saturation states ranging from fully brine saturated to air dry conditions with 6.2 μm voxel size resolution. The data acquisition and pre-processing are here described while all data, a total of 48 tomograms, are made publicly available. The combined dataset offers new opportunities to study the influence of surface roughness and particle morphology on capillary actions as well as supporting validation of pore-scale models of multiphase flow in granular materials.
